St Michael's Church, Puketapu, Hawkes Bay

Dedicated to Saint Michael and All Angels, a well maintained small timber frame country church. The church was built in 1910 and has a number of features including a range of stain glassed windows which were made in England.

On a personal note, I have fond memories of this church, it's located beside my old primary school in my home town. It was also the one and only church that I went to Sunday School for one time only; I went with a friend.

Tikanga Maori Anglican Church, Clevedon

All Souls Church, Clevedon

Built in 1861 and opened by Bishop Selwyn and built in the typical Selwyn style of vertical kauri weatherboards and a shingle roof.

St David's Presbyterian Church, Waharoa, Waikato

 St David's Presbyterian Church was built of hollow brick with a plaster covering and was dedicated in 1912

The Church of Immaculate Conception

The village chief called all the families to a gathering at their Marae (meeting place). Once there he said that this half (he pointed out the right hand side) were to become Anglicans and the other half(the left hand side) were to become Catholics.  And that was how the religion of the very small village was decided.

St Mary's Church, Mourea

Near the banks of the Ohau Channel which joins Lake Rotoiti and Lake Rotorua.

St Faiths Anglican Church, Ohinemutu, Rotorua

Ohinemutu Maori Village, Rotorua ~ a mock-Tudor style church completed in 1885.

  

The burial crypts are above ground because of the geothermal activity underneath Ohinemutu and on the shores of Lake Rotorua ~

The stained glass window shows Christ wearing a traditional Maori cloak who appears to be walking on the waters of Lake Rotorua ~

Tamatekapua meeting house(Ohinemutu Marae) along side the church ~
